Obama Administration Stabs Gun Owners in the Back

DoD Surplus Brass No Longer Sold for Reloading!

We warned you that Barak Obama would publicly deny his radical anti-gun agenda, while engaging in "stealth" attacks on private gun ownership. The most recent example is a directive from the Department of Defense that will severely aggravate the current ammunition shortage.
For those who either don't own guns (or have been living in a cave) supplies of ammunition are getting alarmingly low. Many retailers report shelves virtually empty of popular pistol and rifle ammo.
Most ammunition manufacturers depend on reclaiming used brass cartridge cases from the military, that are then recycled to make new ammunition. It is a system that has benefited both the military and the private sector, not to mention saving the taxpayer's money.
So it is beyond comprehension at a time of serious ammunition shortages, as well as budget shortfalls, that ammunition manufacturers would receive a letter stating the following:
"Effective immediately DOD Surplus, LLC, will be implementing new requirements for mutilation of fired shell casings. The new DRMS requirement calls for DOD Surplus personnel to witness the mutilation of the property and sign the Certificate of Destruction.

Mutilation of the property can be done at the DRMO, if permitted by the Government, or it may be mutilated at a site chosen by the buyer. Mutilation means that the property will be destroyed to the extent prevents its reuse or reconstruction. DOD Surplus personnel will determine when property has been sufficiently mutilated to meet the requirements of the Government."
Now, one has to be curious about WHO suddenly decided to mandate a new policy that makes a bad situation worse, has no benefit to the military, and will result in an increase in costs to the American taxpayer, precisely when the government is running a gigantic deficit.
But of course we know the real reason behind such actions - after losing a number of elections both locally and nationally, the anti-gun radicals have learned that the way to succeed is to avoid highly public confrontations like wholesale gun bans.

Instead they have adopted "incrementalism" - stealth campaigns that slowly rob legitimate gun owners of their ability to exercise their rights. They know that they don't need to take your guns away if they can simply make it more and more complex, expensive, and difficult to own and use your guns.

So, obviously, something like an ammo shortage is a dream come true for the gun haters. Why bother with their guns when simply denying them ammunition makes their firearms useless?
One wonders when gun owners who were stupid enough to have voted for Obama (and his like minded Democrats in the Congress) will finally stop denying the obvious.

Sniper rifle software launched for iPod touch

New BulletFlight program could be a 'killer' app for Apple

BulletFlight is a new application has been launched for the iPod touch to help gun users line up a clean shot at their target
A new application has been launched for the iPod touch to help gun users line up a clean shot at their target.
The BulletFlight app, which costs £6.99 to download from the iTunes store, has been developed by Runaway App to turn the iPod touch into a ballistics computer which the company says can provide “quick solutions in the field”.
Users can mount their iPod touch to their rifle, and then use the iPod’s touch-screen to tap in details about the wind conditions, ammunition type, distance to the intended target and even the wind speed.
“Unlike other apps, BulletFlight does not output information in table format,” says the application’s iTunes page. “What it does do is dynamically give you the solution you need now to take that shot.”
The application features built-in profiles for three weapons – the M110 semi-automatic precision rifle, the KAC PDW, and the 14.5in SR16 rifle – although users can add more weapons into the app.
“Environmental calculations are based on the Sierra Bullet model,” says the BulletFlight iTunes entry. “Up to five ballistic co-efficients with corresponding velocity thresholds may be used for each profile.”
BulletFlight is not the first shooting application for the iPhone and iPod touch – that honour goes to iSnipe – but it’s the latest in a long line of unusal apps for the devices, which have included simulated beer-pouring, a fart machine, and even “breathalysers”.
So basically with a little practice and some basic parameters...anyone can drink a six pack and shoot the bean bags off a nat.

I find this strangely uplifting. Where do I sign up??

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists, Obama supporters, et al:We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce.

I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile; slate it up to irreconcilable differences, and go on our own ways. Here is a model dissolution agreement:Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that it should be relatively easy!

Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA, and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore, and Rosie O'Donnell (you are however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move them). We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart, and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies, and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan Hockey Moms, greedy CEO's, and Rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood. You can make nice with Iran, Palestine and France, and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protestors. When our allies or way of life are under assault, we'll provide them job security. We'll keep our Judeo-Christian Values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, and Shirley MacClain. You can have the U.N., but we will no longer be paying the bill. We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks, and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru Station Wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare, if you can find any practicing Doctors (that is practicing, Howard Dean) who will follow to your turf (sic). We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic' and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute 'Imagine', 'I'd Like to Teach The World To Sing', 'Kum Ba Ya', or 'We Are the World'. We'll practice trickle down economics, and you can give trickle up poverty its best shot.Since it often so offends you we'll keep our History, our Name and our Flag.Would you agree to this? If so please pass it along to other likeminded patriots, and if you do not agree just hit delete and hang on.In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR on who will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,John J. Wall

Law Student and an American.

PS - Please take Barbra Streisand, Rosie O'Donnell, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and all the other extreme liberals….Yeh, take Minnesota too!!

Obama's Election Sparks Gun Sales

Up in Arms: Post-Election Fears Cause Surge in Gun Sales
By RYAN OWENS
Nov. 7, 2008—
While shoppers are cutting back on almost everything, sales of one item are suddenly soaring -- guns. Buyers across the country are snapping up firearms at a record pace
At 9 a.m. today, the counter was already crowded at Cheaper Than Dirt, a discount gun and ammunition store in Fort Worth, Texas.
"Everyone is here for the same reason: Buy it now or you're not going to have a chance in the future," said Charlie Street, a gun owner.
At Cheaper Than Dirt alone, more than $100,000 in guns and ammunition have been sold every day since Election Day. Buyers are stocking up before President-elect Barack Obama takes office.
"Election Day, people wake up and say, 'Obama, oh my!'" said Dewayne Irwin, owner of Cheaper Than Dirt. "It's the knee-jerk reaction but it's good for business."
Business is so good that Irwin spent the morning furiously calling suppliers to find more guns.
"You can't find an AK-47 from a distributor anywhere in the nation," Irwin said, looking at his computer and checking on inventory.
Sales are brisk across the West. Background checks for new gun owners jumped 15 percent last month, according to Federal Bureau of Investigation data.
Colorado just set a record for the highest number of background checks for new gun owners, nearly 1,500 in a single day, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Obama says he supports the right to bear arms with reasonable restrictions. But that has not been enough reassurance for some people or enough to quell the spreading fear among gun owners.
The National Rifle Association Web site encouraged NRA members to go out and buy guns. The site's news scroll read, "Gun stores report brisk business after Obama election >>>> Run on Guns in Texas!"
Some guns are selling more than others. Assault rifles are especially popular because Obama supports renewing the expired federal ban on assault weapons.
For some voters, issues like the economy took precedence over gun control.
"One of the strangest things I've had happen in the past few weeks was that I've had people coming in here wearing Obama buttons and Obama T-shirts," Glen Parshall, owner of a local Fort Worth gun shop. "[They] tell me they're in here to buy them before he bans them."

NOTE from Fistfull 'o' Boomstick: Hi-Cap Gun Works is in no way surprised by the current demand of assault rifles preceding the election. Active gun bloggers and firearm enthusiasts are posting a plethora of material across the Internet re: when, how, and what type of firearm ban and what restrictions we will be facing as citizens of this nation. Hi-Cap Gun Works has been working hard to keep these high demand assault rifles available to our customers. Hi-Cap Gun Works has formed a friendship with JK Supply Co...a first rate licensed firearm and accessories dealer for Northern California. Ryan of JK Suppy really has a solid and impressive knowledge of the gun laws for CA. The following list was given to me by Ryan as quick reference for CA and it's "constitutionally challenged" laws of what is considered an assault rifle.
Penal Code 12276.1 is the most important section to know and understand.

The term “assault weapon” also means any firearm that falls under one of the following definitions pursuant to Penal Code section 12276.1:

(1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable
magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(B) A thumb hole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.
(2) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to
accept more than 10 rounds.
(3) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 30 inches.
Hi-Cap Gun Works looks forward to working with JK Supply Co to make all types of rifles available to the law abiding and legally residing citizens of the United States. We will work together to customize, accessorize, and develop new products to promote and secure our second amendment rights.

Gun Blogger Rendezvous III (a.k.a. GBR III)

The GBR III ran from October 9th thru the 12th of 2008. Hi-Cap Gun Works was proud to take part in what the gun blogger world might see as a union of like minded patriotic people who come together and share firearm knowledge, aptitude, and know how. The GBR has a very special mission...and that's to help raise money for Project Valour-IT.

Hi-Cap Gun Works was able to contribute to the GBR by handling some of the logistical shipping issues involed with getting some very nice guns to the GBR and then back again to some eager owners. One particular handgun was a Para PXT LDA Limited Single Stack Pistol. This gun was donated by Para USA to be raffled off at the GBR in support of Project Valour-IT. Take a look at this!

This Para felt really really good my hands...but once I shot it! WOW! I must admit, the thought crossed my mind that it would get "lost" in shipment to the raffle winner. It's a tough gun to let go and GBR was very grateful to receive such a generous donation. Congrats! to the winner of this Para. Yes I do know his name...but Hi-Cap is keeping it secret because someone might be inclined to break into the winners home and steal it. Providing he doesn't blast you with a precision made hi-quality limited edition .45.

I won't spend much more time writing about the GBR. The bloggers that attended the GBR have already posted some great material and images. Here is a list of just a few of these bloggers:

Hi-Cap Gunworks would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Completely for his hard work in orchestrating this event. Also, a big thanks to Ashley Varner of the NRA and Larry Weeks of Brownells. And to the sponsors and every gun blogger that attended...it was an honor and a privilege. You are a great bunch of people and we were proud to be invited to share this event with you. Thank you.

Hi-Cap doesn't dabble much in photography...but I thought you bloggers might enjoy a few pictures I took at the shoot.

Who's Biased?

I’m going to start this post, by first saying that all of Hi-Cap's blogs are going to be extremely biased. Yes Biased.

The reason for this is simple. All gun blogs are biased. They are biased because they have to be.

No it isn’t because the bloggers themselves are biased [though this is known to happen in any blogging sphere. It is not because we are pandering to a particular industry, [yet]. It is not because we are egoistical, [though certainly we are]. It is because of the guns themselves.

Yes I do mean any gun. Guns unlike anything else on the planet that is not alive have personalities. Those personalities manifest themselves in the owners of those guns slightly warping the opinion of the owner.

Yes even the most un-biased gun owner [if such a thing exists] is constantly under assault by the personality of their guns. Yes some guns even assault the very psyche of their owner.

This is not to say strong guys like strong guns, or sleek women like sleek guns, oh no, it goes so much deeper than that.

Your opinion on your gun reflects how you feel in your very soul. It is a self expression that goes deeper than any gun fanatic cares to admit.

The owners themselves may find qualities they like in guns they don’t have themselves. Some owners may look like something out of the night of the living dead and own only guns that are pimpy and flashy.

Some owners may be as hot as Sarah Palin in a thong skinning a timber wolf in zero degree weather, and pick only guns that are big mean and ugly.

Then again some owners pick guns exclusively to their personalities. Big mean guy, big mean gun. Nice gentle soul, Gentle 22.

The problem again is that all of us are biased to a particular group of guns. Be they bolt action, Semi Auto, DAO, it just doesn’t matter. We are particular and biased and in some cases downright mean about it.

How dare a gun shop try to sell you a life long ak47 man a junky little bolt action 17hmr. Why you have half a mind to show him the difference the old fashion way. A 7.62x39 to the freakin face.

On the other hand how dare he try to sell you, who have no use for a black gun an ak47. Why, you have half a mind to show him just how quick your 17hmr with your way to overpriced high powered scope can take him out at 300 yards.

The point is whether you will admit it or not, YOU ARE BIASED. So am I, but DAMMIT AT LEAST I'M NOT IN DENIAL!

Also let’s never forget, nobody is a true gun fan unless they own at least one gun they hate to death. They never shoot it, they never carry it, and it just sits there. Think about that for a minute and tell me it’s not all in your head!
We are all BIASED! So don’t write us with little pussy comments like “Your opinion is not objective”. I can promise you right now it won’t be.
